Santa's Dance Party

I love the holidays!  Everything about them.  I already started putting some of our decorations up in the cabin before we left and I can't wait until we drive to our family Thanksgiving celebration...not only because I get to spend time with my family, but because of my tradition...what tradition you ask?  I begin playing Christmas music in the car on the way and it doesn't stop playing until the day after Christmas!  It used to drive my daughters crazy.  Johny handles it pretty well, though he is really happy when it stops!

I share all this because Liam and I officially kicked off the holiday season together today.  We went to Santa's Arrival Dance Party at a local mall.  The perfect way to kick off the holiday season for me...watching Liam's excitement build and his eyes grow wide as Santa arrived.  He never did dance with all the other kids (he is quite shy in crowds and around people he doesn't know), but he was excited about seeing Santa.  It was a long wait, but it was worth it!

Here are a few more shots from our visit...

On the way home, we sang Santa Clause is Coming to Town.  Liam said he loved Santa.  Then, he sighed real big and said in a drowsy voice, "I'm tired".  Then shortly after that, "Memere, I love you" (Memere is French for grandma, when he says it, it sounds like MeyMey).  I am so appreciative that he is such a loving boy, very willing to share and communicate his love...very special indeed!

Memories for a lifetime!

On a separate topic but funny enough to share...last night at dinner..."Liam, would you like ground beef with your mac-n-cheese?"  There is a little pause, then Liam says "Memere  what animal does it come from?"...I say "cow".  Liam gets a funny face on and says, "I don't want to eat a cow".  It made me laugh, but I've been thinking about it ever since...interesting what children think about!

PS...I do realize how late I am publishing this, it's been a long day for me too, but I've enjoyed every second of it!

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise

Since you are neither a beef rancher or a dairy farmer, may I suggest you correct yourself with Liam...the ground beef comes from steers/beef cattle, not cows (that is where we get our milk). OK memere? Hugs!
