On my way back to the cabin (from Florida)
today, I passed by a turn off the road to an overlook of the Tallulah Gorge
and decided to take a look (this is the first time I have traveled this route, so I didn't know this gorge was there)
...at first I simply parked the car and looked over the edge, this is what I saw...zoomed in...
...it was breathtaking, literally
I then followed the suggestion from a nearby sign and went into the small building to take a look from the covered patio...it also took my breath away and I had to take a video to try to give you a sense for the majesty and grandeur of this view...(if you get this via email, you may need to click on the post title at the top of the page or click here to see the video)
...the experience was an excellent reminder of the value of pausing and taking advantage of unexpected opportunities!
Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow (sorry I missed yesterday)
Beautiful! I am trying to allow myself the time to explore back roads now and then ... most rewarding!
Wow, this is breathtaking beautiful. That's what I love about these mountains. Thanks for sharing.
I'm sorry to say, that when I'm driving I tend to keep going rather than try to stop and see the sights. A lot depends on traffic behind me. Looks like your stop was well worth it. - Margy
One of life's beautiful moments! Hugs!
True Vicki, and I especially enjoy exploring one that I didn't know was there!
Thanks Susie, my friend Bertie told me it's even more breathtaking when the trees are green!
Margy, I used to do the same, but I'm glad I've changed my ways a bit...
Hugs back dad:)
It is a wonderful place! Wallenda walked across it on a tight rope and Deliverance was filmed on the river at the bottom.
I didn't know those things Betty! I love it even more now:)
