Our Mountains & Wildflowers

Everyday brings a new horizon and new blooms.  I took a walk up the mountain and came across a few new wild beauties...

First, the mountains...this is the view from about 500 feet above our place...if I could build a tower 500 feet high I could see this every day (believe me, I am sooooo tempted to make this wish come true, it just might happen)...
Our place is just over the first hill that is almost discernible; if you look at the trees from the left, and go to the third smallest hump of tree, our place is on the other side of the hill right about where that tree top is, so almost halfway from the left and about 1/4 way up the photo...

This is the view we saw this morning (a good rain yesterday afternoon brought nice clouds & fog in the hollers of our mountains)...
...I think you can see how we are seeing a portion of that broader view.  It never ceases to amaze me, when I walk just 1/2 mile up, that the view changes so dramatically.

Along the way, I found a few new wildflowers, and they are beautiful.  Purple is the color of the day, though my identification of them is still in process...thanks to Mamabug I now know this is a Tall Bellflower, thanks Mamabug!
...this is the small field of these beauties...
There was this lovely wild onion or garlic plant flowering, still haven't been able to figure it out...
And this is another purple beauty, the intricate hairs leading to the yellow point (sorry, flora anatomy is escapes me at this moment) is stunning...again thank you Mamabug, she has identified this as Spiderwort.
...this is a different view of the same plant, I really like the buds toward the stem...

Oh, and PS, we have tomatoes sprouting in our yard, the ones that were transplanted...they are teeny tiny, but woo hoo, happy day, Cherokee Purple tomatoes on the way!!!

Thank you for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise
