Jessi & Liam's Vacation, Last Day at our Cabin

Today may be the first day of summer and longest day of the year, but to me it feels far too short.  Today is Jessi and Liam's last day at the cabin and I'm trying to get in as much time with them as possible.  Here are a few highlights...

...Liam picking radishes in the garden,
...he loves radishes, and they were so good.

We didn't end up sleeping in the tent last night, but we did go sit inside it for a while an sing and play.
Liam was an excellent storyteller...
...very animated and full of details!

Later, as Jessi and I sat on the porch, she got a funny look on her face, pointed upwards, and was not thrilled to see a huge spider (just the body was about the size of a quarter)...

...we watched it dining on an unsuspecting insect.

Today we made our strawberry jam...Liam helped combine the ingredients...
...Jessi helped with the constant stirring...
...and was proud of her labor!  More to come about the recipe in the future.

Liam watched Nono chopping wood and helped to stack it.

A little while ago he asked me to take another picture of him eating one of his eggs (I take so many pictures he is usually against it, so this was a treat, he loves his eggs)!

We've had a great day, and it isn't over yet...and now I am going back to enjoy my last evening here with them.

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise
