My Father, My Friend & My Mother Too

My dad was here for a visit this past week, we had a wonderful time (you can read about our good times in a few previous posts).  I hope he and Donald come back again soon!

Dad's had to be Dad & Mom for over 25 years now, filling the void my mom's passing left.  He has done a great job, for me, my brothers and sister, and all our extended families.  He is Dad.  Daddy.  Friend. Confidant. Pepere (French for grandfather).  Beau Pere (father in law). Today I honor him, and thank him for all he has done.  This is a picture of a waterfall on the road up the mountain to our cabin, set back a bit and many people don't even realize it is there.  While Dad was here and I showed it to him, he tried to take a picture, the sun was just right, making the water look like it was sparkling...but a car came so we had to move on.  I have not been able to capture that same sunlit moment again...I will keep trying until I get it.

Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there!

PS, woo hoo, no poison ivy itchy's!!!

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise

Your Dad sounds like a wonderful man. You are so blessed to still have him with you.
