Spring in December

Ahhh, a day of relishing every moment...

Setting the scene...Johny went into town early today, so I have had the pleasure of lots of alone time (a really good thing now and again, I know you can relate).

But what's made it even better is it's been a spring like December day 'round here.  The kind that makes you want to ignore all the chores and get outside.

As soon as Johny drove away, I hurried up and got my 'to do' list done (it's one of the things I love about this little cabin, doesn't take long to clean).   I couldn't wait to experience this unusually warm December day.

Then I took a long hike to the top of the mountain.

Then when I got back to the cabin I opened some windows to freshen the air inside (usually too cold 'round here to have the windows open).

Then I let Fluffy out (she is really an indoor cat; we only let her out periodically, when we can watch her closely).  Besides stalking the birds at the feeders, she too enjoyed the sun and warmth.  Pogo always goes out, he was roaming the mountain almost all day!

Then I sat on my rocking chair and looked at the mountains and listened to the birds chirping at the feeders and the chimes gently singing in the background.  The tallest peak you see to the left here is same as the tall peak in the right of the photo above from my hike.

Then I played Christmas music and sat on the front porch swing and swang (not sure this is a correct word but it gets the point across). I swang and breathed in the fresh clean air and swang some more.  I walked around the deck, looking as far as I could see, listened to more birds, listened to the creek gurgle over the rocks as it passed, and swang some more.

Then I did a few more things on the to do list (just a few but made me feel productive enough to resume my preferred activities) and then went outside again...just too pretty to be inside.  As I said, a day to relish every moment!  A good reminder to have gratitude for every day, as you never know what tomorrow will bring.  If I'm lucky, maybe some snow is in my future!

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise
