A Few of My Favorite Things About Spring

There is something about Spring.  I never really understood it before moving here to the cabin, but there is a palpable sense of the revitalization of life as it happens.  Old Man Winter keeps wanting to hang on though...we just managed come through two days of a potential freeze unscathed, and have had to keep the wood burning stove roaring in the mornings to stay warm...that's OK with me, I like winter too...but I'm happy to see Spring taking hold.

These are few of my favorite things about Spring...

An inch worm dancing in the air.

My first linens hung on the line to dry...I love that fresh smell when I lay my head on the pillow for the first time!

Sunrises look like this...
...and sunset like this.

Dandelions are everywhere...we love the greens and buds for salad, the flowers for making wine, and the seeds for pictures and propagating.

Swallowtail butterflies...this is a Tiger Swallowtail...
...and this is a Pipevine Swallowtail.

Bees are busy pollinating.

And flowers are busy blooming...one of my favorites, a rare Pinkshell Azalea. I know I keep showing you these, but I just love them!

The birds sing, my chimes sing, the creek sings...it's a musical time of year!  Reminds me of one of my favorite songs...My Favorite Things from the Sound of Music (click on the link to hear it)...I'll be hearing that tune for the rest of the day!

What are your favorite things about Spring?

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise

My favorite things about spring were from childhood times...chicks and/or rabbits for Easter! I love the dandelion photo...looks like a firework display. Hugs!

Oh yes, baby chicks and bunnies are adorable! I agree about the dandelion, I enjoy every part of that plant! And to think some consider it a pesky weed! Hugs back!
