Snow???

It snowed on my way to class yesterday. Not a lot, but enough to shroud the sky with white powder and leave snow dust whipping around the highway as cars zipped past. It lasted for a short fifteen minutes--long enough for me to get what I would expect is my last snow thrill for the year.
When I arrived in the parking lot and a brief flurry speckled my car with flakes. The car next to me had been parked there for some time, and the flakes fell onto a thin layer of pollen. I laughed out loud at the absurdity of it, and tried to get a picture but the lighting was bad and I couldn't capture it.

The temperature dipped into the 20's overnight, threatening everything that has started to bud or bloom. I'm hoping the duration of the freeze was short enough that no damage was done. It never occurred to me that I should bring the hummingbird feeder in; this morning it was a block of ice and even the condensation has frozen into little bubbles.

I was thrilled to see my first hummingbird return a couple days ago; I'm watching the feeders to get some good pictures for you...stay tuned.

Thanks for reading my blog, see you tomorrow,
Lise

Your photos are great, Lise. We had some snow here in Montreal as well!

I haven't put my hummingbird feeders out yet. But I did see one in town at the Missouri Conversation center. We did have a hard freeze Monday night. The garden survived, peas, lettuce, radishes, spinach and onions. :)

Now to see where I stored those feeders!

Our hummingbird feeder froze too. But I was delighted later in the day to see the hummers back.

Thanks Linda. I'm looking forward to a warm up, we're still cold here!

I'm glad to hear your garden survived Patti. We're just now beginning to plant our seeds.

I know you love the heat Dad! Hugs back.

NCmountainwoman, I haven't seen ours come back yet. We've been hanging on to cold temps though, so maybe they've moved into the valley for now.

Oh no! Frozen hummingbird nectar! Not a good thing. I can't believe you had to deal with more snow!
