Our Friend Ron's Carvings

Our friend Ron was an incredibly talented carver.  His workshop was filled with his artwork.  Unfortunately, his health has declined and he is no longer able to carve (not giving specifics to respect his privacy).  But his pieces will last forever and bring much joy to those who possess them.  We are fortunate that he and his wife Bertie have gifted us with a few of his pieces.  I thought I'd share some with you...

...this is Johny's favorite (the dust is from the workshop and I haven't wanted to clean them up, somehow the dust is still an important part of them for me)...
...made from a "Y" in a branch...
...Bertie gave me this boot the other day, it's my favorite!...
...one of the many walking sticks he carved...
...beautiful detail...we are grateful and proud to be the recipients of these pieces!

Here's hoping that 2014 brings medical experts new information to help fight diseases that bring hardship and heartache to families.

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise

I agree Vicki, and people's talent never ceases to amaze me!

The workshop is now empty dad, sad to say. Glad you got to see it and visit with Ron in his prime. Hugs back!
