The Creek Rushes Through It

Our creek is part of the headway that feeds into the creek that flows down our mountain.  It's lines the winding road and is a comforting sight while twisting and turning on the way down the mountain into town.  Today, as I headed into town for a couple appointments, I was shocked by it's power.  Twice it's breadth and depth, muddied by everything it carried, it was clearly swollen by the rains.  The rain was falling too hard for me to stop and take a picture, but when I returned home, as soon as there was a slight break, I headed for our creek.  It too was swollen and rushing.
Recently, I shared a photo of this portion of the creek, click on the link and make your own comparison (scroll down a bit in the blog to see the photo, what you see in the photo on that page is the top part of this photo below).
This is a waterfall near the bottom of the mountain, I've posted about it in the past as well...click here to see a previous photo.

We have a lot of water, and it's still coming down!  My thoughts go out to those folks who may be impacted by the recent rain and threats of flooding.

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise

Can you direct some of that rain up our way.

Do you have a rain gauge out? I just wondered how much you've gotten.

Stay safe.

I sure wish we could send rain your way!!! In the last 24 hours, the rain gauge shows 1.5 inches, and this week 4.5 inches. I am not sure how accurate the gauge is, our weather unit is not placed in the best spot in the yard, but I believe it is relatively accurate. I have to say, it sure does feel like we've had more than that!
